I'm used to having my machine locked down by tyrannical, paranoid sysadmins at work. I don't need one embedded into the OS at home. The sequence: -Phone sales guy assures me the video card has dual-DVI outputs. This is important because my monitors are DVI. -Computer arrives a week later.

Then you go to the other OS, endure all updates, sometimes close to 15 (a real case for one of my XP partitions) and from there you can change any dll or system driver without being punished. I do have two partitions on 3 machines but it happened historically. I do use some of them in dual role.

I set up a dual boot with XP 32 and I don't have any problems with the audio on that OS. The device manufacturer says that there are no driver issues and they have been thoroughly tested The IRQ's are assigned almost identical to the XP32 OS on the same machine and that behaviour is not showing up on that OS.
